“I have been in the industry for 12 years! I was inspired by the industry because it is ever changing and has so many avenues for a great career. Being a scholarship recipient was incredible - as an educator, it isn’t often that I get to fully immerse myself as the student again. With there being such a small class, I felt like Jennifer gave amazing one on one hands on education, allowing me to fine tune my skills and take it back to our students. “As long as I can remember I have loved playing with hair and knowing that when my hair looked good, I felt good. I took cosmetology classes in high school. I went on to university for nursing but left my program after 2 years  As I knew it wasn’t for me and I wanted to do hair and help people feel beautiful.  As  long as I have been in the industry I have tried to absorb as much education as I can, from as many different platforms as I can. I have taken endless classes all in the name of bettering myself for my clients and to now help better my team. I would like to use this scholarship to take the Wella curl craft course.  In the area I live there is not much advanced education offered for working on curly and wavy textured hair. I would like to help grow my confidence in this area to better serve my community and become more inclusive for guests with all hair types.
